Job Description

• Collaborates with NPI program managers in order to reach NPI project timing, quality and financials and actively participate in the NPI project team activities to ensure proper coordination between all functions and Plant ME.• Lead handover procedures Launch to Production.• Accountable for the AME part of the Project Approval Committee and responsible to elaborate risk assessment for process / manufacturing risks for every new quote presented to PAP review.• Collaborates with global AME capacity manager to address capacity issues (STRAP, AOP) and with regional Sales, Finance and Sourcing to fulfill the Project Approval Committee requirements and expectations.• Team member to generate, assess and develop breakthrough innovative ideas to be converted into new competitive manufacturing processes.• Anticipate technological trends and propose innovative solutions to meet market demands and customer expectations.• Develop in closer collaboration with the Core Process Engineering and AME Process Managers and Experts capable and cost competitive manufacturing processes.• Define technical process and equipment requirements, state of the art manufacturing, in close partnership with the Global AME Process Managers and Experts.• Active team member in interface for Operations/AME support for Core Development.• Support for Formulation development / Trial runs and industrialization.• Define and run DoE’s.• Lead process variation reduction projects (DMAIC).• Support standard manufacturing frame for all processes.• Provide Six Sigma support to the plants.• Collaborates closely with Product, Core Process, Application Engineering and Quality.• Create monthly AME NPI reports

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, method / process, chemical or mechanical Engineering background preferred.• Management experience and background in automotive industry is an advantage• At least 5 years management experience in Manufacturing and/or Product Engineering roles.• Experience and demonstrable capability in Manufacturing Engineering• Track record of success working within and across functional teams, in driving change and implementing new processes to significantly improve process efficiencies in manufacturing.• Experience in working in a matrix environment, as well as managing multiple priorities and provide appropriate communication skills.• Success in managing multiple, complex projects and changing priorities, making sound decisions and working effectively in a highly technical, team oriented environment.• Lean Expert or Black Belt certified. High practical knowledge in using six sigma tools highly appreciated.• Adaptable and a good team player• Demonstration of appropriate communication skills• Able to build and maintain effective working relationship• Enquiring mind, willingness to adopt new approaches• Able to demonstrate excellent verbal and numerical skills• Proficiency in English• Strategic thinking• The attitude and will to want to make a difference• Travel is required to support trials in prototyping and manufacturing sites• Flexible approach
