The Department of Surgery is a top-tier department with world-renowned faculty and staff. A full-time advanced practice provider staff position (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) is available in the Department of Department of Surgery, and Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. This position will provide patient care services in the outpatient clinic sites at UC Health and will support the University's mission and commitment to provide excellent patient care. Our faculty and current experienced advanced level provider will be available to teach and support the new candidate to take on her/his clinical responsibilities as needed. Under our Colon and Rectal Surgery faculty supervision and mentorship, the candidate will assist in providing comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients. Essential Functions Evaluate and treat patients with Colon and Rectal disorders. Collect developmental history and physical examination of Colon and Rectal patients. Evaluate and manage postoperative patients. Assist with pre-operative preparation for patients. This includes procedure counseling, obtaining patients' surgical consent in the office and submit the pre-operative orders. Maintain accurate records. Assist in peer-to-peer review for insurance approval of imaging studies. Participate in research and development projects. Assist with returning calls regarding clinical inquiries. Perform related duties based on departmental need. Minimum Requirements For Nurse Practitioner: Master's degree from accredited nursing program. Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority AND active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty. Three (3) years nursing experience. For Physician Assistant: Master's degree from accredited physician assistant program. Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority AND certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Minimum of one (1) year experience is required. Additional Qualifications Considered Certification by the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB).
