Description

Robert Half is offering a contract to full time employment opportunity for a Patient Service Representative in the healthcare industry. This role is based in Cincinnati, Ohio and involves working as the primary liaison with patients, physicians, and hospitals in relation to the financial aspects of services. It requires a high level of organization and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and maintain stable performance under pressure.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all aspects of collection and validation of accurate patient demographic and insurance information.

• Take the initiative in the insurance verification and pre-authorization process by contacting insurance carriers and providing necessary documentation.

• Work closely with involved healthcare providers to pre-certify procedures and other necessary evaluations or processes.

• Assist with denial and appeal process, ensuring all procedures are followed accurately and efficiently.

• Proactively communicate issues or potential issues involving customer service and process improvement opportunities to management.

• Demonstrate a willingness and ability to work collaboratively with others for concise and timely flow of information.

• Maintain stable performance under pressure and handle stress in ways that maintain relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers.

• Be responsible for prior authorizations for various specialties.

• Utilize skills in Pre-Certifications, Prior Authorizations, Medical Insurance, Medical Insurance Verification, and Epic EMR to perform tasks effectively.

Requirements

• A minimum of two years experience in a healthcare

• Proficiency in handling Pre-Certifications/Prior Authorizations and completing forms required for workers compensation claims

• Strong knowledge of Medical Insurance procedures and policies

• Skilled in Medical Insurance Verification

• Experience with Epic EMR software

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks

• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure

• Good understanding of medical terminologies

• Excellent customer service skills

• Availability to work flexible hours, including possible weekends and holidays.
