Job Overview The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (MME) in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Cincinnati invites candidates to apply for the position of Unit Operations Manager. The Unit Operations Manager is expected to support the department's operation and provide administrative services leadership under the direct supervision of the MME Department Head. Essential Functions * Manage, develop, implement, and assist with the administration of goals to achieve strategic objectives; assume management responsibility for a wide range of projects/tasks associated with primary business operations and/or corporate relations that have significant impact within the business function. * Develop and enhance industry partnerships and facilitate MME External Advisory Board activities. * Facilitate graduate student recruiting efforts and oversee operations of new educational initiatives (e.g. NSF REU, NSF ExLENT, SuperRAPIDS, etc.). * Support faculty and staff searches and new faculty on-boarding process. * Coordinate MME marketing, communications, alumni relations and fundraising initiatives. * May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). * Perform related duties based on departmental need. Required Education Bachelor's Degree Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
