The Sherwin-Williams Company Associate Software Engineer in Cleveland, Ohio

The Associate Software Engineer role is responsible for supporting the design, development, and testing of software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products, including cloud-based or internet-related tools for internal consumption. This role will provide technical support enabling the organization to meet its strategic objectives. The incumbent will support its team members to ensure successful teamwork and effective delivery of software solutions. Support software planning cycles by gathering information and providing basic feedback on product/project estimates Learn about the business requirements and help the team in creating basic technical specifications to implement the requirements Assist the team in designing software, applications and database enhancements or new products and take notes for best practices Collaborate with the larger team to develop, build, and test basic software systems or applications to meet business requirements under the guidance of experienced SDEs Research scalable code in various programming languages to learn the best practices and synthesize insights Support the team in conducting basic bug fixes to identify and remediate defects in software solutions Help in technical documentation including code comments and user manuals under the guidance of experienced SDEs Work collaboratively with the team to ensure that software solutions meet business requirements Support senior team members in providing technical support to end-users Education Required Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or in lieu of a degree, at least 2 years of experience in software development Preferred Professional Scrum Developer (PSD) and Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) certification Knowledge and Experience Required 0-2 years of experience in software development in the software development industry General knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices Knowledge of at least one software development tool, platform, and language Knowledge of relational databases and SQL as well as web services and APIs General knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes Good written and verbal communication skills Preferred Java JavaScript React API development Technical Skills Database Management Systems Programming Languages Code Prompt Engineering Cloud Technologies & Platforms Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Methodology Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Project Management Methodology Front-End Coding Languages Web Services & APIs Systems Integration Source Control Systems Build Tools and Compilers Software Testing & Quality Assurance Methodologies & Tools Automated Testing Tools Solution Architecture Patterns Containerization This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H-1B visa.
