Industry leader, very reputable and growing Fortune 500 manufacturer is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor in the Cleveland, Ohio area. This is a M-F Day Shift position.

This role comes with a very competitive compensation plan commenusurate with expeience with a base salary ranging from $85k to $90k plus a 15% (paid quarterly) annual bonus and relocation assistance (if needed).

responsibilities:

  • Enforcing safety regulations, conducting daily safety communications, monitoring monthly safety activity, and conducting safety inspections as needed

  • Directing the work of union represented craft personnel responsible for maintaining equipment through time-based, predictive, maintenance programs.

  • Managing a workload to include, preventative maintenance, outage planning, daily scheduling, and routine repairs.

  • Resolving equipment malfunctions requiring scheduled shutdowns or "emergency breakdown" action

  • Communicate and build rapport with departmental managers for scheduling maintenance actions and increasing confidence in MEU maintenance capabilities.

  • Assist in development and maintenance of a critical spares inventory for your assigned work area.

  • Applicants must problem solve and make decisions; read blueprints and schematics; use desktop computer for assignments, reporting, and limited word processing.

  • Shift Supervisor must have knowledge or ability to learn mechanical drives, motor, VFD's, instrumentation, heat trace systems, hydraulics, crane systems, pumps, and managing spare parts inventory. This list is not limited to other mechanical and electric equipment that you may be exposed to in the work environment.

  • Successful applicants may be required to work weekends, holidays and turn schedules based on the nature of the scheduled workload.

  • Shift Manager supervises hourly personnel within the division and handles employees needs. Needs include, but are not limited to; weekly pay processing, vacations and report offs, tool and equipment procurement, employee conflicts, etc.

  • Can be assigned to different areas within the MEU Division including the Powerhouse, Water Treatment Plants, Crane Repair, Pipe Shop, and Central Spares Warehouse. Verify and perform lock-out audits.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or 5 years equivalent applicable work experience.

  • 5 years of experience in the following: Working knowledge of Level 1 Process Automation, PLC and HMI/MMI programming experience, Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications, Knowledge of Instrumentation/systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 5 years experience in the following:

  • Crane Repair - Experience with overhead cranes and lifting systems regarding functionality, operation, and design.

  • Water Treatment - Experience with water treatment facility operation, pump operation, and electric motor testing and diagnostics.

  • Pipe Shop - Piping installation experience, welding certification, corrosion prevention concept understanding.

  • Supervisory experience in a union environment.
