ManTech Linux Systems Administrator in Coffeyville, Kansas

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Linux Systems Administrator to join our team!
This is a remote, technical position with an Agile Scrum team that will require a broad scope of skills and knowledge of DoD systems.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide support using the following languages: Java, Python, JavaScript, HTML 5.
Work in the following operating systems: Windows, RedHat Linux.
Utilize debugging tools and methodologies for debugging UI, back end, and components.
Install and configure on-prem server operating systems and AWS-based environments.
System Administration: Perform system setup, configuration, and routine maintenance tasks on various Linux distributions, including user account management, software installation, and system updates.
Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices, including firewalls, access controls, and vulnerability assessments. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Network Management: Configure and troubleshoot network services, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing. Collaborate with network engineers to optimize network performance.
Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation tools to streamline system management and administrative tasks.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Set up and manage monitoring tools and respond to alerts promptly. Troubleshoot system issues and perform root cause analysis.
Backup and Recovery: Establish and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions. Test and refine recovery procedures regularly.
Software Management: Manage software packages and dependencies using package management systems. Ensure software is up to date and secure.
Performance Optimization: Fine-tune system performance through kernel optimization, resource monitoring, and load balancing.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and IT professionals to resolve technical issues and contribute to IT projects and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
7+ years of relevant work experience.
Proven experience as a Linux Systems Administrator, with proficiency in managing various Linux distributions.
Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and task simplification.
In-depth knowledge of Linux security best practices and experience in hardening systems.
Familiarity with network protocols, routing, and firewall configuration.
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix) and log management solutions.
Strong knowledge of database architecture, design, and administration.
Demonstrated experience resolving technical issues with:
Cloud-based environments
Windows, RedHat Linux
Microsoft Office applications
Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication and outstanding customer service skills working with senior and executive level staff.
Experience building and configuring physical and virtual servers.
Demonstrated experience developing technical solutions for IT issues and / or developing plans to integrate new technologies and IT requirements.
Demonstrates the ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions to software problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience supporting DoD health care systems.
Experience working with Microsoft SCCM, Azure, AWS, and VMware vSphere.
Experience in writing automation test cases to validate system requirements.
Working knowledge of military health systems, along with the positive track record in the DHA (Defense Health Agency) customer space.
Clearance Requirements:
US Citizenship.

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing/walking/Talking and must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one work site to another.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Requires frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers.

Working with computers.
Must be able to lift and move hardware weighing up to 50 pounds.
