high level management personnel with
budget related work, financial forecasting, and
special projects to include performing
research
,
project analysis
,
and performing
expenditure and forecast r
eporting
;
provides highly responsible
administrative support
to the division
;
and supervises
and dire
cts
the activities of the
administrative
support staff
.
Principal Duties
C
ollect, compile, analyze and prepare a variety of
comprehensive administrative,
statistical
and
operational reports; prepare
expenditure and forecast
reports
.
Perform budget coordination, pr
e
paration, analysis, and administrative work, in support of the preparation and administration of capital and operating budgets
.
Manage the Public Works Administration Divisions budget
to include a
nalyzing the department/division accounts; reviewing and checking financial records to ensure conformance to standards and adherence to policy; and c
ompiling
quarterly performance reports.
Manage the development,
implementation
and maintenance of a department wide asset management program.
Coordinate the fiscal aspects of the department to
include
but not limited to
,
reviewing
specifications for bids and requests for quotes;
and
work with purchasing department to review annual blanket contracts
.
Perform a variety of administrative duties to include evaluating and administering contracts with outside agencies; analyzing and comparing the cost of services performed in-house to services provided by a contractor/vendor; and reviewing bid documents for commodities and services
.
Supervise
administration
secretarial and other support staff
such as
the
Asset and Infrastructure Management Coordinator and GIS Technician
,
to
consist of
interviewing, hiring, training,
counseling
and
terminating
; assigning work schedules,
duties
and projects; and monitoring and reviewing performance.
Maintain
the departments
American Public Works Association
(
APWA
)
Accreditation and standard operating procedures
.
Manage special projects and research activities as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
