Boeing Phantom Works creates the next generation products and services for the Boeing Defense, Space & Security business and is currently looking for a Lead Operations Analyst (Level 4) to join their team in Colorado Springs, CO. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.
This is a 1st shift position that will support the growing needs of the Phantom Works’ Space Command & Control (C2) program and will provide help for the development of our Nation’s newest systems to support Space Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) programs.
Boeing is developing state of the art Space BMC2 systems leveraging cutting edge technology across a diverse portfolio of applications and programs. We seek a candidate having depth of knowledge on the space mission domain including launch vehicles, satellite systems, space based sensors, mission and vehicle C2, modeling and simulation, system integration, interoperability, and CONOPs development.
As a member of the Systems Engineering team, you will be involved in the entire system development life cycle, from idea creation and development, all the way through to maintenance and support of the customer’s delivered system. These positions will place you in roles where you have the opportunity to make an impact on the results of our project. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Lead and oversee execution of efforts to include planning, scoping, development, testing, analysis, implementation, schedule and reporting.
Develop new and modify existing M&S tools to be integrated in to a large simulation suite using MATLAB, Python, STK, AFSIM, or other simulation tools.
Exercise critical thinking and innovative problem solving.
Work with customers, Boeing leadership, and software & systems engineers to translate high level customer requirements into specific work packages and requirements.
Decompose complex requirements into executable discrete user stories
Support new business pursuits including white papers and proposals.
Establish a requirements baseline including analysis, derivation, allocation, and traceability of requirements and interfaces, including external systems and organizations
Identify, perform, and review design decisions, trade studies, and architecture improvements
Establish and support system level management and interfaces
Mentor and coach junior engineers.
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
Ability to work on teams of varying sizes
Good interpersonal skills and experience with customer relationships
Experience with decomposition of complex requirements
3+ years’ experience working in space domain or with space related topics.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience and familiarity with MATLAB and/or Python.
Experience or knowledge of mission level analysis tools, such as STK, AFSIM, or other simulation tools.
Ability to perform trade studies.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range: $83,160 - $154,440
