Previous supervisory experience in retail, restaurant, production, warehouse or similar industries is preferred for this position. Please Note: This position is a supervisory position, is full-time and will require open availability (including evenings and weekends). Shifts for this position could start as early as 7 am and go as late as 8:30 pm. OBJECTIVE: The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Manager for Aftermarket Operations (AMAO) in leading and assisting the Outlet and Recycling Associates, overseeing Customer Service and appearance of the sales floor as well as overseeing breaking down items in recyclable materials. The Shift Supervisor will act as a Manager-on-Duty providing excellent customer service displaying an "Attitude of Gratitude" in order to support the mission of the organization. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Assistant Manager for Aftermarket Operations (AMAO) by maintaining the check-out counters, cash registers, and sales floor.

Assist the Assistant Manager by creating associate work schedules, managing breaks, and supervising productivity. Conducts daily safety and stretching huddles, communicates daily operations changes to associates and assists with interviewing, onboarding and training of new employees

Assist in preparing/counting associate register drawers, count and up-keep of the Outlet's bank, create deposits, and make out change orders.

Assist in preparing reports, tracking/balancing drawers, determining accuracy of all transactions by associate.

Provide first-line troubleshooting for technical equipment such as cash register (point-of-sale system), credit card machines, and other various retail and office equipment.

Supervise Outlet and Recycling Associates by providing training, delegating tasks, encouraging development, providing constructive feedback, handling disciplinary actions and other supervisory tasks.

Act as Manager-on-Duty to include: opening/closing the Outlet, assisting customers, overseeing associates, and being able to make final decisions to ensure the continued operations of the Outlet.

Provide coverage during breaks or absences by running the cash register and assisting customers.

Provide safe, organized, and well stocked sales floor. Coordinates the opening of recycling, machines key put in and opening of garage doors as needed. Oversees the cleaning lubrication of recycling machinery. Coordinates the closing of recycling make sure compactors, machines, metal bins and doors are secure before leaving. Coordinates the placement of commodities being shipped out. Coordinates the placement of Outlet product. Cross-train in other departments/areas and act as a back-up as required.

Perform all other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

One year retail experience desired and previous recycling, production or warehouse experience is helpful.

Familiar with running a cash register, point-of-sale systems, and handling complex transacti ns.

Previous supervisory experience preferred, to include scheduling, goal setting, task delegation and decision making.

Ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office products.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and electronically with customers, managers, supervisors, staff and peers.

Able to problem solve and make decisions.

Able to maintain confidentiality and follow Goodwill's policies and procedures.

Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending and lifting up to 8 hours per day.

Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary. Able to lift up to 75 lbs., use a dolly and pallet jack as required.
