Columbus Regional Hospital Oncology Nurse Navigator in Columbus, Indiana

What you ne ed to know about this position:

  • The Oncology Nurse Navigator coordinates and manages care to meet multiple needs of clients, ensures continuity of services, provides emotional support and patient education and overcomes fragmentation of care and services.

  • The main goals of the Oncology Nurse Navigator are to guide and support the patient and his/her family through the duration of his/her time in the program.

  • The Oncology Nurse Navigator uses clinical reasoning skills to assess physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs within the context of the patient and family’s social and support requirements. Case management is an intermittent or continuous process; depending on the intensity of the illness and the patient's ability to gather information needed to make informed decisions.

  • The Oncology Nurse Navigator develops long-term relationships with patients and coordinates care in all settings across the continuum.

  • The Navigator promotes an open system of care in which information is shared among all disciplines working collaboratively on behalf of the patient and family in the mutual planning for care in the Center, the hospital, and home.

  • The navigator acts on behalf of the patient in assuring that needed interventions are obtained and the patient is making progress according to mutually defined goals.

  • The Navigator is responsible and accountable for appraising the specific as well as the overall effectiveness of the Unit based case management nursing services.

  • The base annualized salary for this position is $78,541. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The base compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.

  • This full-time position will require you to work 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday through Friday. This position is partial remote eligible.

    What is required for this position:

    Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

  • 5 years of clinical experience preferred, with at least 3 years in oncology required.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Indiana Registered Nurse License or Multi-State Registered Nurse License through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) required within 90 days of hire.
