What you'll be challenged to do:

TranSystems Ohio offices have an opportunity for a mid-level engineer to join our Roadway Team.This Engineer will be a member of our roadway team and will lead and assist in various tasks including plan preparation, quantity calculations, geometric design, drainage design, cost estimating and other related tasks. Microstation, Open Roads Designer, MS Office and other design software will be used, and all work will be in collaboration with other engineers, technicians, planners, and surveyors. This Engineer will also help mentor younger engineers and will be given the opportunity to develop into a project manager. Candidates with a background in preliminary engineering or development of detailed plans are preferred; must possess strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.

Primary Responsibilities (others may be assigned):

- - Analyzes information and data to perform detailed roadway calculations.

- - Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods, and occasionally represents the organization in meetings to resolve important questions, and to plan and coordinate work.

- - Responsible for accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and efficient conformance to budgets, schedules, and company standards.

- - Research design options and document findings for Senior Project Engineer.

- - Computation of plan quantities to support cost estimates.
