Aston Carter Payroll Clerk in Commerce, California

Hiring for a Payroll Clerk in Commerce, CA!


• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus.

• Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role.

• Familiarity with payroll software and relevant tools, such as Paycom, UKG, Paychex, ADP, QuickBooks, or similar systems.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.


• Review timesheets and attendance records for accuracy and completeness.

• Send corresponding request forms to the division for all separation inquiries and support the Payroll Specialist in obtaining completed separation documents.

• Calculate payroll adjustments, such as overtime, bonuses, and deductions, with guidance and direction.

• Prepare and calculate commissions to review with the Payroll Specialist before upload.

• Assist with preparing payroll reports and statements.

• Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve payroll issues promptly and professionally.

• Reconcile payroll discrepancies and work closely with the Payroll Specialist to address any payroll-related matters.

• Assist and support with year-end payroll processing, including W-2 and other tax-related forms, and communicating with former/current employees about their W2 inquiries.

• Maintain confidentiality and ensure the security of payroll and employee data.

• Backup payroll processor, ensuring hourly, salary, and commission-based compensation is paid out accurately.
