Description

As a Temporary Accounts Payable Professional, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. You will be responsible for maintaining strong vendor relationships, reconciling accounts, and supporting the overall financial operations of our retail company. This temporary position will span 2-4 months.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.

• Verify invoice details, such as pricing, quantities, and applicable discounts, and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers.

• Code and enter invoices into the accounting system, ensuring proper allocation to appropriate accounts and cost centers.

• Prepare and perform reconciliations of vendor statements, resolving any billing discrepancies and ensuring timely payments.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including purchasing and receiving departments, to resolve invoice and payment-related issues.

• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain strong relationships, ensuring a high level of customer service.

• Prepare and process weekly/monthly payment runs, ensuring adherence to payment terms and discount opportunities.

• Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline procedures and enhance efficiency.

• Assist with ad hoc financial projects and tasks as assigned by the finance management team.

  Requirements

• Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar role, with a solid understanding of accounting principles.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel.

• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
