As a Firmware Engineer, you will be supporting new development and legacy code for government/military surveillance equipment! There is a lot of legacy products with code that was written in assembly language on their microcontrollers that needs support at the moment. Moving forward after the current project, this individual will write all new code in C as they will own the new code.

Job Responsibilities:

• 50% new product development and 50% working on legacy products

• Responsible for designing, coding, testing, and documenting code for our embedded software products.

• Design microcontroller firmware for new products

• Work with the electrical and mechanical teams to produce highly integrated designs

• Ensure that new product design meets the requirements set forth in Product Requirement Documents

• Coordinate with the hardware design team to ensure that current software fully implements hardware functionality

• Troubleshoot firmware problems to find root-cause and propose improvements for existing applications

• Work with electrical engineering team to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues discovered in new and existing products

• Support production teams of bench technicians, assemblers, and quality control personnel with test routines and troubleshooting tools

• Provide maintenance for existing software and legacy products

Skills & Qualifications:

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain DOD Clearance

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science

• 3-6 years of professional embedded experience

• Embedded C development on microcontrollers. MSP430 experience is a huge plus.
