Summary:

 Seeking a highly qualified Directed Energy (DE) Software Systems Engineer in the Huntsville, AL area supporting a Project Office at Redstone Arsenal. Develops plans and provides technical expertise in formulating data driven decisions about the progress of prototype DE weapon system(s) technical maturity.

  Applies broad, comprehensive knowledge of functional policies, procedures, and techniques and reviews and recommends revisions for software processes, policies, and standing operating procedures, ensuring full integration with Government policies and procedures. The Candidate will assist the Government Program Manager in the following mission areas: Planning, developing, and executing the program by providing researched and detailed advice; prioritizing issues for the Program Manager and filter issues as assigned; and preparing briefings, information papers, and talking points for the Program Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Apply sound acquisition and systems software engineering practices and principles to all assigned projects. Support the Product Office team as the software lead and ensure all software requirements are met. Aid in ensuring cost, schedule, and performance of the system(s) are met. Identify and track software risk areas for the program, formulate and implement risk mitigation plans. Assist in writing and review of Statements of Work (SOW), perform technical evaluations of contractor proposals and support contractual activities. Provide key software technical expertise for software documentation reviews (DO-178 documentations set). Support software sustainment activities.
