A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for a Clinician position supporting our Youth ACT program in Cortland & Chenango counties!

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a team that is starting a new and valuable service for youth and families where the youth have serious mental health issues. Individual must be comfortable in working in community settings such as the youth's home and school. Individual must have experience in crisis diffusion and management. Experience with Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT Skills training (any or all of these) is a plus but not required. Training will be provided on the job.

The Clinician II is responsible for the assessment and delivery of quality mental health care to the youth and families that Hillside serves. The Clinician II works as a member of an inter-disciplinary team to develop, assess, and modify the individual service plan. The person in this position will provide both individual and family therapy within a variety of settings (including community, home, school, residential, etc.). The Clinician II recognizes the need for, and provides, team mentoring and clinical guidance. Based on experience and skills, the Clinician II may also provide clinical peer supervision and clinical consultation and training to other team members. The Clinician II is relied upon as the primary contact for the service plan and is able to expertly and succinctly communicate at all levels both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate ability to diagnose and treat children/youth and families

• Provide individual and group therapy, including structured and process groups, within a variety of settings, based on group/client needs and Clinician credentials

• Depending on level of experience, provide clinical consultation and training to staff

• Act as the primary contact for the service plan with the ability to expertly and succinctly communicate at all levels both verbally and in writing.

• Provide 24/7 on call crisis support and intervention on a weekly rotation.

• Operate collaboratively as part of an intensive multi-disciplinary treatment team

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling with a valid NYS Professional license.

• Minimum of 3+ years of relevant clinical experience working with youth and families with mental health challenges.

• Thorough knowledge of services provided, well developed advocacy skills, knowledge and understanding of payment processes for services

• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet agency driving standards

• Licensed or permit eligible upon hire

$51,480.00 Minimum Rate per year, $75,842.00 Maximum Rate per year, based on experience.
