JM Murray Center PC Support Techinican in Cortland, New York

The PC Support Technician provides first line hardware and software support to employees in all JM Murray locations.

Maintains regular attendance and punctuality in order to perform tasks related to daily and ongoing company IT needs. This position performs all hours onsite and at all assigned physical locations of operations and services. Follows all safety rules and regulations; wears and/or uses required protective equipment while working; immediately reports any safety concerns or unsafe working conditions to IT Management. Conducts all aspects of job responsibilities in compliance with the JM Murray mission statement, policies and procedures, professional standards, and applicable governmental laws, rules and regulations.

HELPDESK SUPPORT

Provides first line support for hardware issues (ex: PCs, printers, scanners, etc.). Provides first line support for business software (ex: Adobe, Citrix, Epicor, Microsoft Office, etc.). Provides first line support for network issues with Network Administrator (ex: Routers, Switches, Phone System, etc.). Provides first line support for account lockouts and password changes using Active Directory.

HARDWARE SUPPORT

Manages maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment (ex: PCs, printers, scanners, servers, Wyse terminals, etc.). Manages Laptop, projector, and TV setups for meetings. Manages warranty list for equipment and thoroughly assess equipment before warranty expiration. Manages backup tape rotation schedule. Efficiently and productively utilizes tools and equipment to perform the functions of this position such as but not limited to PCs, laptops, tablets, digital cameras, printers, keyboards, mice; ladder to install and maintain IT equipment; and tools to open/close IT equipment such as screwdrivers, wrenches, sockets, etc.

OTHER TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Manages IT calendar by adding events and providing support for added events (ex: webinars, equipment setups, etc.). Maintains company IT asset database. Maintains long-term and short-term loans for laptops by installing monthly updates and confirming equipment remains in compliance with JM Murray standards. Maintains long-term and short-term loans for digital cameras.

IT DEPARTMENT SUPPORT

Obtains pricing and quotes for hardware and software upon request. Assists with installation of monthly security updates. Assists with virus software updates and communicate any virus alerts.

Assists with configuring new and reformatted computers, laptops and Surface tablets. Conducts self in a manner as to always contribute to maximum individual growth and in accordance with all regulations, the Code of Ethics and Company policy and procedures. Represents JM Murray and the JM Murray mission in a positive manner, treating people with respect and dignity. Performs additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

2 Year Degree Computer Hardware Technician or Computer Information Systems required

2-3 years related experience desired

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

Knowledge of programming and scripting Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft software and database systems (Office, Access, SQL Server) Experience working with vendor technical support Experience maintaining IT hardware (PCs, Laptops, Printers, etc.) Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems

Must have flexibility to work occasional hours outside of regular schedule.

Must be able to travel locally to assigned JM Murray locations to provide IT support.

Full time Monday- Friday 1st shift
