Description

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist II provides day-to-day support in some or all of the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment and onboarding, training, policy implementation, wage administration, affirmative action, social media, and employment law compliance. This position supports employees and managers at multiple locations in the US.

As an HR Generalist with a focus on benefits support, the position plays a pivotal role in assisting employees with benefits-related inquiries and ensuring the smooth administration of our benefits programs. They will be responsible for providing exceptional support and guidance to employees, as well as maintaining accurate benefits records, processing benefits invoices, and assisting with the implementation of benefits initiatives such as the annual open enrollment.

This fast-paced role has no two days alike, and the combination of answering inquiries and processing transactions can change with the departments' needs. This role can shift focus in an instant and prioritize multiple work requests while remaining positive and upbeat. The position is part of a knowledgeable, flexible, and enjoyable HR team that works closely together on all aspects of HR with a large focus on benefits.

This is a non-supervisory position.

Responsibilities:

May be responsible for or assist other HR team members with the following HR functions:

Benefits Support:

· Participates in benefits administration, including new hire paperwork, assisting with coordination of open enrollment, and communicating benefit information to employees which are lead by the Senior HR Manager

· Coordinates and presents information to employees for new hire benefits orientation and ongoing benefits education

· Serves as the first point of contact for benefits questions from managers and employees on plan coverage details, enrollments, and general inquiries

· Develop and distribute benefits communication materials, including guides, newsletters, and FAQs

· Responds to 401(k) inquiries relating to enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts

· Reconciles and submits benefit invoices to finance for processing payments

· Assists with coordination and administration of COBRA insurance and other benefit paperwork to ensure timely and accurate processing of information according to procedures and policies

· Assists with developing, administering, and communicating company wellness programs for employees with the company’s wellness coach.

Employee Relations:

· Respond to inquiries and resolve problems regarding policies, procedures, and programs

· Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues

· Assists in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee handbooks, communications, and meetings

Staffing & Training:

· Backup to the company’s recruiter, as needed, to coordinate the recruitment process, including placing job postings, tracking applicants, screening, conducting interviews, background checks, references, and preparing employment offer packages

· Backup to the onboarding HR Generalist, as needed, to facilitate new employee orientation and onboarding programs

· Ensures the accurate and timely completion of all required new employee forms and their entry into the human resource information system (HRIS)

· Assist management in creating job descriptions

· Maintain the accuracy of information in HR systems during the employee life cycle (new hires, job changes, and terminations)

· Coordinates employee training programs such as harassment policy training through the HRIS system

HR Reporting & Metrics:

· Maintain organizational charts and monthly headcount reports

· Prepare monthly HR reporting metrics

· May assist with collection of Affirmative Action Plan data for third-party AAP report compilation

· As needed, participates in association wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rates

· May submit annual EEO-1 report

· May prepare necessary reports for unemployment agencies

Other Job Functions:

· Complete verifications of employment

· May assist with the coordination of employee events

· Updates to company intranet site as needed

· Other projects as required

Requirements

Education/Experience:

· Requires Bachelor’s degree with a preferred minimum of two years of related HR experience with benefits administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Human Resources

· Preference for professional HR certification

Other Requirements:

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer service-oriented approach

· Proficient with Microsoft Office products

· Knowledge of employee benefits administration and applicable laws

· Proficiency in Paylocity/HRIS systems, Visio, and Adaptive Planning preferred

· Requires a valid driver’s license for occasional local travel to training

· Occasional domestic travel may be required for training or visits to other business units
