Lockheed Martin Environmental Safety and Health Engineer in Crestview, Florida
Description: The candidate will be responsible for ongoing management and enhancement of safety programs and overall regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment. Candidate will oversee ESH program assessments, critical operations oversight, mishap investigations, and ensure proper documentation of OSHA requirements. The candidate must be focused on accident and injury prevention and will manage safety program performance through effective communications, project management, and development of continuous improvement initiatives. The candidate will be responsible for compliance of the Worker's Compensation and return to work programs. The candidate will be responsible for developing new solutions to identify and minimize potential hazards within a manufacturing environment. Candidate will be responsible for working closely with site leadership, engineering, and employees to assess and address safety aspects of engineering controls; facilities projects; engaging employees to address safety concerns and determining safe work behaviors. Candidate must be able to successfully work independently and as part of a functional team to identify, analyze and resolve issues. Candidate will represent the organization across multiple levels of the company and demonstrate the ability to collaborate and effectively communicate organization strategy and objectives. Must have the ability to research and apply the best industrial and working practices to provide effective services while keeping abreast with changes in laws and regulations. Possess comprehensive knowledge of health and safety engineering processes and practices. Ability to provide and implement plan objectives and standards timely.
Basic qualifications (BQ’s) are the minimum requirements for a candidate to be considered for a position, 3 to 5 BQs are most effective.
• Competent with regulatory and consensus standards such as OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, etc.
• Experience in Environmental Health & Safety disciplines such as developing, collecting, maintaining and analyzing program documents, presenting metrics, evaluations and/or inspections, ergonomic assessments and/or industrial hygiene assessments, conducting training for ESH programs.
• Ability to identify and maintain leading safety indicators/metrics.
• Exemplary communication, prioritization, strategic and problem solving skills.
• Computer application proficiency.
