The custom animation producer manages bespoke animated content for marketing and home entertainment releases. The producer will work with Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) marketing, Sony Pictures Animation (SPA) executives and filmmakers to synthesize creative goals and budgets for best results.

Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production animation studio based in Culver City, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. We pride ourselves on empowering filmmakers to lead the creative process, and allowing the hand of the artist to be truly felt, with the goal of producing bold and innovative visual storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Understand creative goals of marketing execs and filmmakers.

  • Develop and produce creative content that supports marketing needs and the movie.

  • Manage the production requirements to deliver high quality media, ranging from digital to theatrical short form content.

  • Communicate goals and potential challenges for each project.

  • Juggle numerous projects with multiple vendors.

  • Manage small internal crews.

  • Report accurate schedule, budget and staffing needs.

  • Work collaboratively with filmmakers and executives while managing projects independently.

  • Keep stakeholders updated on progress.

  • Primary point of contact for custom animation.

  • Dual report to Marketing and Production.

Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in animation production having led a production team to completion on films or series.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience producing short or long form content end to end with high level of independence

  • Ability to communicate and speak to production, creative and marketing concerns.

  • Experience balancing multiple vendors simultaneously.

  • Experience in various media (CG, 2D animation, etc).

  • Demonstrate the ability to work with creative individuals.

  • Effective interpersonal skills.

  • Project management skills.

  • Solution focused.

  • Enthusiasm required.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $140,000 to $190,000. This role may also qualify for incentives and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
