Amazon Finance Manager, Prime Video Finance in Culver City, California

The US Prime Video Content Strategy & Finance team is seeking a Finance Manager to join our Los Angeles-based group. The Finance Manager role will be an essential member of the team, with broad analytical and strategic responsibilities, including:

Key job responsibilities

• Manage the “source of truth” for the US content portfolio, including titles across Originals, licensed content, and Live Sports, tracking both service level and financial performance metrics.

• Publish clear and frequent reporting for senior PV leadership on portfolio-level budgets and performance tracking

• Forecast and monitor content performance, track progress, and understand sources of variance vs latest operational plan

• Identify deep, actionable insights into the content preferences, behavior and needs of our customers, globally

• Partner with business and content strategy teams to design both short and long-term content licensing strategy, including inventing new metrics to measure success

• Create service level metrics forecasts from title level content inputs, leveraging latest forecasting tools and science on incrementality of content spend.

• Continually partner with science and product teams to improve service-level KPI forecasting, improving tools to further capture and automate customer cohort level projected performance

• Proactively identify opportunities for trade-offs, and provide strategic guidance on the best use of remaining capital

• Author business-driving documents to leadership that surface key learnings and provide recommendations for our go-forward content offering

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 5+ years of identifying and implementing opportunities to resolve finance issues, improve, scale, or simplify finance tools, technology, and processes across teams and organizations experience

  • Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

  • 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
