Within our Prime Video Global Operations team, we’re looking for a results-driven BI Engineer to develop our data strategy, reporting automation, insights, and planning capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for taking data from marketing and business teams, finance, HR, strategy, product, and tech to develop robust workforce data reporting and insights for Amazon PV.

This individual has proficiency in employing business intelligence solutions, excellent analytical abilities, strong business operations fundamentals, and good judgment. This individual will also provide thought leadership against future modeling capabilities and programs that enable the acceleration of free cash flow, improved operational efficiencies, and delivery. The role will be responsible for enhancing PV’s workforce data collection , operational metrics, and capacity planning capabilities in order to connect the dots to P&L impact. In this role, you will be responsible for developing operational, marketing, and human capital data into an automated reporting suite, and leveraging tools and expertise that will enable PV to map enterprise strategies into actionable delivery plans. You will influence data driven business decisions that results in quantifiable outcomes, understanding complex business relationships, and developing a correlation between your work and PV’s free cash flow.

You will bring a mix of experience including data management and governance, reporting automation, complex global program management, senior stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning, and process improvement. Key job responsibilities

  • Support and drive the data strategy for Amazon PV that aligns to business goals and workforce strategy. This will require data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling and problem solving.

  • Prepare management reporting and monitor performance by collecting, analyzing and summarizing performance data and trends, identifying and resolving problems and developing recommendations

  • Analyze how marketing operations can be further optimized to drive PV free cash flow

  • Promote process improvement and standardization of data governance across PV

  • Build self-service reporting platforms, establishing automated processes for large scale data analysis

  • Identify and implement workforce demand planning and management tools and technology enablers that will improve operating accuracy and efficiency

  • Collaborate with PV leaders, Finance teams, Operations teams, Marketing teams, Talent Acquisition teams, and other critical stakeholders to drive alignment on forward looking workforce plans that ensure the business has the right workforce in the right places, at the right times

  • Prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment and highly-matrixed organization

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in data analytics, engineering, statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, or related field

  • 5+ years of SQL experience and working with data analytics and visualization using tools like SAS, Tableau, PowerBI, or Quicksight

  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

  • Experience with AWS technologies

  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

  • 5+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Cross-team collaboration skills and effective written and verbal communication skills when interfacing with stakeholders, peers and executives

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements and influence decision-making

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advance Degree (MS/MBA) in the field of analytics, operations or strategy

  • A record of customer advocacy and ability to influence without authority

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Prior functional experience in media & entertainment or marketing operations

  • Prior functional experience in large scale workforce, operations, or capacity planning functions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
