JOB DESCRIPTION – SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Location: Prague, Czech Republic

Division: Ticketmaster Česká republika, a.s.

Line Manager: Finance Director

Contract Terms: Permanent, 40 hours per week

THE JOB

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the overall day to day running of the finance function. Ensuring timely and accurate execution of all accounting processes including; AP, AR, Banking, Management Accounts, Taxation, Financial reporting, Internal/external Auditing and Statutory reporting obligations.

The ideal candidate is reliable, efficient and thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment. Knowledge or passion of the music/entertainment industry always a plus. As a leader of the Finance Team, you will be partnering with all areas of the business and interacting with many different stakeholders. You will gain an in-depth understanding of the day to day running of the department and oversee the daily accounting and financial reporting activities of the business.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Lead the finance team

  • Posting month-end accounting journals including wages

  • Review and preparation of accruals, internal documents

  • Review of general ledger

  • Preparation of monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts

  • Reconciliation of intercompany transactions and balances

  • Preparation of VAT returns, cooperation with tax advisor

  • Weekly/monthly reporting tasks

  • Doing other ad hoc tasks based on the instructions from Finance Director or MD

  • Responsibility for preparing documents for audits and cooperating with auditors

  • Responsibility for preparing and submitting statistical returns

  • Staying updated with relevant accounting standards, and regulations

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)

  • University degree in Accounting

  • Senior-level accounting experience required

  • Very good knowledge of the Czech accounting procedures, policies, regulations, and rules

  • Fundamental knowledge of US GAAP

  • Possess PC proficiency, especially in Excel

  • Experience with Oracle preferred

  • Fluent in Czech and English

  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

  • Good time management skills and ability to meet deadline

  • Be able to identify any issues related to the work or the team in time
