Job Description

Amazon Web Services has an opening for a multi-talented Creative Producer to support an internal training organization for AWS Support. The producer must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has a strong media development and training background.

You will drive visual, high-value storytelling, helping us to bring our training content to life through creative, interactive content like audio, video, eLearning, and other rich media formats. As a creative producer, you will be responsible for scoping intake requests, designing and developing high quality multimedia content for technical and non-technical learning programs for AWS Support’s global sites. You have an eye for a great story, feel at home operating a camera, are efficient with editing tools software, and ideally have experience in adult learning.

A successful candidate has a growth mindset and does not need much oversight, with exceptional stakeholder and program management skills needed to balance competing priorities and deadlines.

Key job responsibilities

• Produce video, motion and graphic design, and eLearning content for internal projects, from initial concept to final deliverables, both solo or in partnership with a team.

• Work closely with senior managers, program managers, and curriculum developers to proactively clarify project requirements and use cases when there is ambiguity.

• Ensure all deliverables meet stakeholder expectations, including adherence to established timelines, strategic initiatives, and alignment with branding standards.

• Manage all production partners for video and interactive projects, as well as other projects, to include managing shoots, post-production, animation, digital, and experiential production.

• Collaborate effectively with AWS Service teams, subject matter experts (SMEs), and managers on the AWS Support team to provide consulting, and develop technical training content as well as non-technical content.

• Use program management tools and skills to manage medium to large scale content development projects

• Design and develop learning solutions by applying adult learning principles and systematic instructional design to create learning content that best fits the needs of the learner (includes online, instructor-led training, and blended learning content).

• Contribute to the development and implementation of new learning models and content design templates and standard operating procedures.

• Leverage rapid, agile development techniques and processes to create content for a rapidly changing environment. Lead process improvement efforts.

• Develop instructional media, job aids, assessments, and other methods of learning including social or connected learning strategies, and multimedia-based assets.

• Coach and mentor junior content producers and curriculum developers in the use of tools and visual design methodologies.

• Partner with project stakeholders to gain deep expertise and guidance when needed.

• Partner closely with internal global learning, creative, and central support teams to implement best practices, and provide creative support to global teams, as needed.

A day in the life

As a creative producer you will be conducting needs analysis and stakeholder consultation meetings, working on in-flight projects, implementing stakeholder feedback, and proactively looking for opportunities to raise the bar on training products by adding rich, interactive media content.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in multimedia development with audio, video, and/or graphic design (e.g., Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop)

  • Professional experience using video editing and post-production tools (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or similar)

  • Working understanding of web and media design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript)

  • An undergraduate degree in communication, media production, design, or related field; or relevant professional experience in similar role

  • 1+ year of experience in an instructional design/curriculum development role or similar, including experience in creating eLearning courses

  • 1+ year experience in using authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate

  • Ability to apply adult learning principles and incorporate this into multimedia products and curriculum design

  • Some travel may be required (10-25%)

  • Portfolio and/or multimedia samples required at application

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in multimedia development with audio, video, and/or graphic design (e.g., Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop)

  • A graduate degree in communication, media production, design, or related field; or relevant professional experience in similar role

  • 2+ years of experience in an instructional design/curriculum development role or similar, including significant experience in creating eLearning courses

  • 2+ years of experience in using authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate

  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing training materials and content to include creating instructor-led materials, online/e-learning modules, job aids, online tutorials, multimedia products (video, graphic, audio), and other training materials

  • Professional experience using e-learning software (Articulate, Captivate, or similar), Cornerstone LMS (or similar)

  • Professional multimedia certification through recognized institutions (Adobe Certified Professional or similar)

  • Professional experience with web and media design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript)

  • Experience working with and integrating the use of knowledge bases and online reference for learning and performance support.

  • Strong program manager with excellent verbal and written communication skills. This includes skill in collaborating with subject matter experts and managers to help write, design, and develop, and manage technical IT (information technology) content projects.

  • Experience on leading projects for an entire group or department, or a major piece of a larger cross company product or project.

  • Experience using data collection, research, and analysis to evaluate project outcomes and improve individual and organizational performance.

  • Experience with technical customer service organizations.

  • Experience writing technical documents in the English language

  • Experience building, implementing, and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience communicating results to stakeholders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
