Functional requirements are derived from sources such as federal, state, and local regulations, safety expectations, industry best practices, customer use cases, ADAS operational needs, User Experience (UX) flows, and failure mode avoidance (FMA) analyses.

  • Write and execute the Design Verification Plan (DVP) and acceptance criteria used for Ford’s engineering sign off of the SDS, including defining where to leverage testing from subsystem, feature and Latitude DVPs and balancing the appropriate use of simulation, component, track, and real-world testing.

  • Use performance metrics to monitor SDS performance in simulation, track testing, and real-world driving.

  • Craft and implement framework for Ford engineering signoff of the ADAS, with special focus on the Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R), Failure Mode Analysis (FMA), and Functional Safety (FuSa) Verification and Validation (V&V) requirements for the Self-Driving System (SDS).

  • Assist engineers at Ford and Latitude in implementing technical methods to measure and improve simulation fidelity and credibility

  • Authorship, release, and reporting of requirements, test methods, and program deliverables in JAMA and Ford Engineering Design Environment (FEDE).

  • Provide status reporting to the ADAS and program leadership, in line with GPDS deliverables.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to other engineers in the group

You'll have…
