Job Summary:

The Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles or machinery to ensure their optimal performance and safety. This role involves working with a variety of tools and equipment to address mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring that all repairs meet industry standards. The Mechanic must also communicate effectively with customers and other team members to provide quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Inspect vehicles or machinery to identify mechanical problems. Use diagnostic tools and techniques to determine the cause of issues and recommend necessary repairs.
• Repairs and Maintenance: Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other mechanical components. Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance services to prevent potential problems and ensure the longevity of vehicles or equipment. This includes checking belts, hoses, filters, and other critical parts.
• Parts Replacement: Replace worn or damaged parts with new or refurbished components. Ensure that replacements are compatible with the vehicle or machinery and installed correctly.
• Testing and Inspection: Test vehicles or machinery after repairs to ensure that they are functioning properly. Perform safety inspections and road tests to verify that all systems are operational.
• Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers about the repairs needed, provide estimates for services, and explain the work performed. Answer questions and offer advice on maintaining their vehicles or equipment.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all services performed, including repairs, parts used, and labor time. Ensure that all documentation is completed according to company policies and industry standards.
• Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Keep tools and equipment in good working order. Report any issues or malfunctions to management and ensure that the workspace is clean and organized.
• Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Follow industry standards and manufacturer guidelines for repairs and maintenance.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics, technicians, and service staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service. Assist with training and mentoring less experienced team members.
