Heidelberg Materials is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for supervising a mechanical maintenance crew to deliver effective maintenance and equipment reliability. This position is based out of Delta, BC.
What you’ll get to do:
Promote safe work habits and a safe work environment
Assign and coordinate work orders in accordance with the designated planning flow process
Assess work priority, develop work scopes, and coordinate maintenance tasks
Maintain and improve equipment reliability through effective maintenance and equipment upgrades
Gather accurate estimates of repair time, crew size, and costs of repair
Investigate equipment failures and trouble-shoot problems
Coordinate maintenance activities with Maintenance Planners including parts and materials
Ensure employees training is kept current and that maintenance skills are upgraded
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, process, and product quality standards
Coordinate equipment lockout with production, other trades, and contractors
Administer the collective agreement and all company policies and procedures.
Respond to emergency situations to ensure continuity of operations on a 24/7 basis
Who we are looking for:
Post-Secondary degree mechanical/structural engineering is preferred
Red Seal Millwright required
8+ years’ experience in a heavy industrial setting, experience in concrete industry is an asset
5+ years’ experience supervising a unionized workforce.
Experience creating, managing and directing maintenance programs
Familiar with local and provincial regulations for safety and environment.
Work Environment:
- Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels
