Intermountain Foundation oversees local and regional fundraising programs throughout Utah and Southeast Idaho. Local programs raise funds to benefit hospital projects, patient programs, research, and other initiatives based on community need. Throughout Intermountain Healthcare's history, philanthropy has played a critical role in advancing medicine and improving lives. As the Foundation and Healthcare System partner together in innovation, philanthropy continues to be seen as a strategic imperative to build a model healthcare system. The Foundation fundraises for Intermountain Health. The Primary Children's team focuses on fundraising for Primary Children's Hospital specifically.

The Development Specialist serves as the administrative liaison to local Foundation Executive Directors, Directors of Development and Gift Officers, whose purpose is to generate revenue through fundraising activities. Working with Foundation leaders and other members of the Foundation team, this position is responsible for complex and diverse business activities that ensure that fundraising teams are prepared for strategic, well-coordinated, high-yield solicitations that lead to significant philanthropic support for Intermountain Healthcare.

Position Details:

The Development Specialist reports to the Finance & Administration Manager at the Foundation's Central Office, while also taking direction from local Foundation leadership, anticipating and responding to their needs proactively. The candidate must be able to work independently, providing cross-functional support to other team-members. Responsibilities include Raiser's Edge data entry, solicitation preparation and follow up, Philanthropy Board support, and other general administrative support of the Major Gift function, as well as overall local office management. Incumbents may be hired on at a Level I or II, depending on experience.

Shifts are Monday-Friday from 8AM-5 PM with potential for some evenings (for Foundation events). Weekends and holidays would be rare, if ever, and probably never required. The hybrid position can work remotely 2 days per week, and will spend the other 3 days in office.

Development Specialist I Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree or two years of experience in fundraising, event planning, prospect research, stewardship and/or donor recognition, annual fund activities, presentations and public speaking, and working effectively with board members, civic and business leaders, and other constitue Demonstrated strong and written and verbal communications skills. Effective interpersonal skills, including relationship building and communication in-person, over the phone, and via email with diverse groups of people (e.g. volunteers, board members, hospital staff, and others). Demonstrated strong analytic and creative skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision while balancing the need to provide key information and updates to leadership. Experience using word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, database, internet, email and scheduling applications.

Development Specialist II Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus two years of experience in fundraising, non-profit operational support, event planning, prospect research, presentations and public speaking, working effectively with board members, civic and business leaders, and other constitue OR Four years of experience in fundraising, non-profit operational support, event planning, prospect research, presentations and public speaking, working effectively with board members, civic and business lea ers, and other constituencies. Demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills. Effective interpersonal skills, including relationship building and communication in-person, over the phone, and via email with diverse groups of people (e.g. volunteers, civic / business leaders, board members, hospital staff, foundations / corporations, etc). Demonstrated ability to make effective presentations in front of internal and community groups. Demonstrated strong analytic and creative skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision while balancing the need to provide key information and updates to leadership. Demonstrated proficiency using computer programs and databases. Experience using word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, database, internet, email and scheduling applications. Experience working with volunteers. Preferred Requirements Executive Assistant or office management experience. Fundraising or other non-profit work experience. Functional working experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge.
