Job Description Summary: What you need to know about the role:

This is a senior full-stack software engineering role with focus in JS/Node/React. In this role, you will be working with a set of applications that utilize variety of Cloud-managed services in highly performant, scalable full-vertical systems, creating new features and providing support and maintenance for existing functions.

The Shopping & Rewards Product Knowledge team owns a portfolio of critical components including Product Catalog, Search, Customer SKU preferences and more. We are a frequent partner in multiple strategic business initiatives. As an engineer on this team, you will work on highly impactful and visible projects that enable PayPal to provide more rewarding experiences to the world. We are an international team with members in India and the US.

Job Description:

As a software engineer on the Product Knowledge team, you will help build and enhance a suite of services and tools that bring PayPal consumers the products they desire in the best and most rewarding fashion and with the highest degree of confidence and accuracy. You will take part, and even lead, the development of high-quality, high-performing, secure applications from architecture design and planning, to implementation, launch and operations. You will be delivering new features, reacting to customer feedback, helping to ensure quality, working closely with our product team, and ensuring compliance. This will include developing new features, enhancements, and bug fixes for our micro-services, message queues, and batch jobs. You'll work closely with our Product team in an agile environment to bring features from conception to launch. Furthermore, you will participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and shared knowledge and collaborate with other teams across PayPal Shoppi ng and Rewards to ensure transparency and effective delivery. You will also be part of a team with unique culture of collaboration, expectations to learn but also to mentor others, grow as a contributor and win as a team.

In your day-to-day role you will: Leverage your expertise of JS across the stack from front-end to back-end, to design, develop, test, and release software. Work on product features in a collaborative environment, but also be able to drive feature development and troubleshooting without guidance. Engage in discussions about the work we do and how we can optimize it, including providing design insight and code review feedback. Handle inquiries from rewards platform stakeholders and respond to service interruptions as part of our support rotation.

What do you need to bring: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience. 3 years of software development experience with JavaScript and modern JS frameworks. Knowledge of data structures, object-oriented design, algorithms, exception handling, and troubleshooting. Experience working with large-scale, highly available, and distributed systems. Experience developing automated unit, integration, and functional test suites. Experience writing SQL and implementing database design. Proven abilities to project and time manage. Demonstrated desire for constructive collaboration, share and challenge ideas based on merit, learn and grow - continuously
