Amazon Program Manager II, Reliability & Engineering Maintenance Strategic Workforce Development (SWD) Team in Denver, Colorado

Do you want manage programs focused on improving the internal and external talent slate for an essential Amazon support team? The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) Strategic Workforce Development Team uses data, research and internal and external partnerships to craft workforce development solutions focused on building robust talent pipelines to meet RME’s current, emerging, and future needs.

As a Strategic Workforce Development (SWD) Program Manager you will proactively identify mechanisms, process improvements, programs and partnerships which will improve Amazon RME operations and the employment outcomes for current and future Amazonians.

The SWD Program Manager will lead programs supporting Amazonians globally. This includes identifying key initiatives, developing project roadmaps, engaging vendors, internal and external partners, developing proposals, identifying and scoping data and metric requirements, and managing key stakeholder communications. This role will work directly with multiple internal businesses, technology, finance, operations, vendors, and partner teams.

Key job responsibilities

Identifying, developing, executing, and managing project plans

Influencing key stakeholders throughout the evolution of a project or program

Stakeholder management and communication

Documenting and communicating results to senior leaders

Interpreting data for a non-technical audience

Develop strong relationships and have the ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders/partners across diverse roles and levels.

Partner with multiple stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements for execution

About the team

The Reliability & Engineering Maintenance (RME) Worldwide Talent Development Team attracts, educates, and develops our workforce. We leverage science and technology as the cornerstone to support and maintain a global infrastructure. We champion organizational change when structural complexity inhibits efficient delivery of our strategic goals.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 2+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • 2+ years of workforce development, human resources or talent acquisition experience

  • 3+ years of project management experience including developing project scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • Excellent communication both written and verbally

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and build partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders

  • 5+ years project management experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
