National Jewish Health Supervisor, Sleep Lab in Denver, Colorado

Position Summary Responsible for managing the daily operations of sleep lab and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) services. Works with Sleep Center Director to assure sleep technologist staff are trained to produce high quality sleep testing in accordance with the standards set forth by American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and The Joint Commission (TJC.) This position will be responsible for the staffing, training and supervision of personnel.

Essential Duties

Manages/supervises and develops an effective staff: providing effective communication, leadership, guidance and resources. Determines staff qualifications and competency: recruits, interviews, selects, hires, trains, orients, mentors, evaluates, coaches, counsels, and disciplines, and re Oversees daily operations of the Sleep Lab, and ensures all equipment and supplies are available. Reviews DME process. Works with DME team to develop workflow to process orders timely and communicate with provider team when necessary. Prepares staff schedules, including identification of the appropriate number of personnel for daily activity making any necessary adjustments in assignments and schedules for the daily activity level. Monitors the quality of all testing results produced in sleep lab and assures that AASM standards are met or exceeded. Actively involved in departmental quality improvement and quality control. Serves as a role model in customer service for the department. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and good customer service skills with patients, physicians, other health care providers. Troubleshoots for problems associated with patient techniques, equipment, scheduling conflicts, physicians, internal departments and outside vendors. To include maintaining working condition of the sleep acquisition systems and database. Other Duties None

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree in sciences, healthcare or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in sciences or healthcare preferred. Work Experience: 2 years healthcare management experience required. 3 years as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist with proficiency in all competences of an RPSGT required. Special Training, Certification or Licensure: American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) credentials as Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT), or American Board of Sleep Medicine {ABSM) credentials as Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) or National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentials as Certified Respiratory Therapist-Sleep Disorders Specialist (CRT-SDS), or Registered Respiratory Therapist - Sleep Disorders Specialist (RRT-SDS).
