Position Description:

The Director of Maintenance will report directly to the VP/GM and has operational and financial responsibility for the Turbo Prop, and Jets Maintenance Departments. The DOM will effectively lead and direct the teams to consistently deliver customer aircraft on time, on budget, and squawk free while maintaining all quality, safety and regulatory standards. As a vital member of the facility leadership team, they will promote a team atmosphere by closely working together with all other departments, aircraft manufacturer’s representatives, parts suppliers, FAA representatives and subcontractors. They will lead their teams to meet or exceed department goals and objectives for efficiencies, cost controls, and profitability.

  1. Exhibit, support and promote the Vision, Mission, and Core Values

  2. Deliver aircraft to the customer on time, on budget and squawk free on a consistent basis by planning and organizing daily work schedule for maximum productivity.

  3. Ensure that the department is properly staffed, managed, trained and directed to comply with internal and FAA regulations and policies.

  4. Assist the development of department budget and forecasts for annual sales and profit, in order to achieve department gross profit objectives.

  5. Utilize the work order process to streamline the workflow, maximize employee productivity, and guarantee accurate invoicing.

  6. On an daily basis, work with Sales and Project Managers to ensure proper communication with the customer.

  7. Utilize the skills assessment tool to foster employee career development, establish shop capability goals and achieve shop training standards

  8. Work with HR to ensure that recruiting, selection, orientation and training of new and existing employees is being performed to achieve maximum retention and career development.

  9. Maintain department staff by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.

  10. Communicate and display department and company goals and objectives and results to foster employee engagement in your departments.

  11. Assist Technical Sales with customer proposals, quotations, and necessary schedule flexibility as required to accommodate maximum labor utilization.

  12. Work in conjunction with planning to ensure coordination of jobs with other departments to maximize capacities.

  13. Managers and above are required to review all processes in their areas of responsibility to achieve continuous improvement and growth.

  14. Other duties as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must haves

  • 10 years of Supervision

  • A&P License

  • 10 years of General Aviation, Turbo prop, and King air experience
