Description:

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

East Tower, 4th Floor

This dedicated unit consists of 62 beds in 44 private patient rooms and is located in the East Tower. Credentialed as a Level III NICU, practicing highly technical, state-of-the-art care for high-risk premature babies and full-term newborns in need of specialized care. Nurses work with neonatologists, cardiologists, surgeons and other medical specialties as a team approach to care and provide the best care for infants.

Essential Functions:

• As an RN with us, you will provide individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages. Utilizing a team approach, you will delegate and coordinate patient care at admission, transfer, and discharge.

• Expectations:

• Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.

• Continues to evaluate assigned patients and provides ongoing treatment.

• Anticipates, identifies, and responds to the educational and emotional needs of patients and families.

• Guides and directs healthcare personnel (i.e., Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients.

• Initiates emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury, etc.).

• Serves in a charge/leadership role based on skill and unit needs.

• Provides orientation/education for staff, students, and other hospital and community organizations as requested
