Hourly Research Assistant - Chemistry

Wayne State University is searching for an experiencedHourly Research Assistant - Chemistryat its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

Design of research plans for total synthesis of structurally complex natural products.

Development of new synthetic methods to improve and optimize the existing transformations.

Lab execution of the aforementioned synthesis and methodology development.

Acquisition and detailed analysis of 1D and 2D NMR spectra.

Working knowledge of GC-MS and glovebox operation.

Knowledge and full adherence to lab safety regulations and practices; detailed lab notebook keeping.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. degree in chemistry or related fields.
