Talascend SL, LLC Maintenance Technician in Detroit, Michigan

Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for an opportunity in Detroit, Michigan

Shifts - 2nd: 2pm-10pm OR 3rd: 10pm-6am

OVERVIEW:

Repairs and maintains mechanical and hydraulic components of production machines and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.

Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area.

Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.

Removes and replaces worn or defective parts.

Realigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches.

Locates damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine, and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe.

Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair.

Repairs broken parts.

Ability to wire and troubleshoot basic electrical control circuits.

Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).

Modifies computer-controlled motion of robot.

Assists Engineer to modify sketches or computer-generated designs of machine components such as hydraulic system and drive mechanism

Punctual and regular attendance is required.

Able and willing to work any shift assigned.

Keeps work areas clean and orderly.

Participates in continuous improvement activities.

Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor. TS 16949/ ISO 14001.

Responsible for reading and understanding the IATF16949, ISO9001:2015 and ISO-14001procedures located at K:/winapps/data/TS Team/Quality System Documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Journeyman status or equivalent required.

Basic electrical knowledge of high and low voltage systems.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures in a professional and consistent manner.

Able to apply common sense understanding and use appropriate judgment in routine business situations with supervisor, co-workers and customers.
