Job Summary:

Receives, records, and reconciles all GreyStone member payments, membership fees, consumer deposits, construction costs, and other receivables coming into GreyStone by mail, in person, or through the night deposit. Explains general GreyStone policies and promotes goodwill

toall GreyStone members. When appropriate, while servicing the needs of all members, uses materials provided to offer additional services available from GreyStone. Demonstrates and promotes a friendly, courteous, and professional member service environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritizes all member-facing transactions.
  • Adheres to station rotation schedule and performs assigned station duties.
  • Receives, reconciles, and records all member and general ledger payments.
  • Coordinates returned mail efforts to establish correct information obtained for UPN records.
  • Performs daily cash entry into Smart Safe
  • Operates OPEX machine to process bulk mail payments.
  • Maintains and cleans, OPEX machine daily and troubleshoots, when needed.
  • Prepares mail, cashbox, and night deposit checks for end-of-day transmittal to bank via Creditron IDC
  • Research various un-postable payment reports, received via email, to post manually.
  • Contacts members regarding post-dated and stale-dated checks, credit balances, etc., before processing
  • Prepares weekly GreyStone coin deposit.
  • Researches and prepares NSF checks, drafts, and disputed credit card transactions.
  • Processes daily night drop payments, mail payments.
  • Enters hand-key payments and notifies appropriate parties as to the completion.
  • Sells various types of meter bases.
  • Explains GreyStone policies and promptly directs member(s) to a Walk-In MSR, if necessary
  • Initiates change-of-address and phone number updates, per member request, and notates account(s) with all pertinent information.
  • Adheres to cashier expectations policy document and established procedures.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds the established monthly, quarterly, and year-end performance goals.
  • Handles Topaz forms for Payment Transfers.
  • Demonstrates an awareness that the job exists to effectively serve each and every member.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervision.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school graduate/equivalent required; some college strongly preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience as a cashier, with preference given to bank teller/credit union experience.
  • Prior experience with data entry (typing skills of 50 wpm or better), general office procedures and working with the public.
  • Aptitude for detail, accuracy, and neatness.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Ability to always maintain the confidentiality of members’ personal information.
  • Ability to accurately balance GreyStone cash drawer in a timely manner according to the cashier expectations policy document.
  • Ability to adhere to GreyStone corporate dress code.
  • Ability to accept and positively respond to supervisory guidance and coaching.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Satisfactorily pass Greystone’s pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, criminal, and credit background check.

Physical Demands (if applicable):

Subject to frequent interruptions in a general office environment. Sitting and standing at workstation handling consumer and employee transactions. Flexibility required to accommodate the needs of the Hiram office due to staffing concerns and to work during emergency situations. Must have visual ability to enter into and retrieve data from the computer and assure correct payment applications. Subject to irate and/or upset members, uncontrolled children, and alcohol and/or body odors. Requires flexibility in meeting schedules and to be "on call" to work during emergency situations.
