AIG Data Architect in Dublin, Ireland

Design, Construct, and Manage Scalable Data Architectures: You will be responsible for designing and constructing data architectures that are scalable, efficient, and aligned with the organization's data strategy and business goals. This involves understanding the data requirements, utilizing best practices, and ensuring compliance with established standards and policies.

Feasibility Evaluation and Recommendations: You will evaluate the feasibility, costs, and challenges associated with data architectures. Based on your analysis, you will provide recommendations for updates and improvements to enhance the performance and efficiency of the data systems.

Collaboration with Data Governance and Data Management Teams: Working closely with the Data Governance and Data Management teams, you will establish and align standards within the overall data architecture. This collaboration ensures that the data systems adhere to industry best practices and comply with relevant regulations.

Expert Consultation on Data Architecture: Your expertise in data architecture will be crucial in providing expert consultation to stakeholders. You will ensure accurate and secure data usage by advising on data architecture-related matters and suggesting updates to address evolving needs and emerging technologies.

Continuous Evaluation and Enhancement: You will continuously evaluate and enhance data architecture artifacts, such as data models, frameworks, and guidelines. By keeping these artifacts up-to-date, accurate, relevant, and easily accessible, you will contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the data architecture.

Collaboration with Business Units: You will collaborate with various business units and Data Product Owners to understand their data design requirements. By actively engaging with stakeholders, you will ensure that the data architecture supports their specific objectives and aligns with their operational needs.

Data Model Design and Implementation: You will be responsible for designing, documenting, and implementing data models that meet specified objectives. This includes translating business requirements into data structures and ensuring the integrity, quality, and accessibility of the data.

Required Skills:

Data Architecture, Data Management, and/or Business Intelligence Experience: You should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture, data management, and/or business intelligence environments. This experience will provide you with a strong foundation in designing and managing data systems.

Property and Casualty Insurance Expertise: Experience in the Property and Casualty insurance sector, particularly with an emphasis on commercial lines, will be advantageous. It will enable you to understand the specific data requirements and challenges in this industry.

Comprehensive Knowledge of Data Principles and Procedures: You should have a comprehensive understanding of principles, procedures, and skills in data management. This knowledge will enable you to make informed decisions and ensure that the data architecture aligns with industry best practices.

Experience in Data Modeling Concepts: You should have experience in various data modeling concepts, with a particular emphasis on Data Vault modelling.

Modern Data Technology Platform Design: You should have demonstrated experience in designing solutions using modern data technology platforms, including Cloud-based solutions such as AWS, Azure, Snowflake, and Spark. This expertise will ensure that you can leverage the latest tools and technologies to build efficient and scalable data architectures.

Advanced Understanding of Specialized Technologies and Practices: You should have an advanced understanding of specialized technologies and practices related to data architecture. Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and industry advancements will enhance your ability to design and implement cutting-edge solutions.

Architectural and Data Design Development and Operationalization: You should have experience in developing and operationalizing architectural and data designs. This includes designing not only the data structures but also the associated technologies and infrastructure required for effective implementation.

Expert Problem-Solving Skills: You should possess expert problem-solving skills and techniques to effectively address complex data architecture challenges. Your ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches will help you build innovative solutions and break down technical problems.
