We are now recruiting a IT Infrastructure Lead to join our diverse Team in AbbVie North Dublin. This person will ensure effective delivery of IAI services to the site acting as a single point of contact for the site. They will act as the expert technical resource for new projects or tasks required by the Business Manufacturing staff for site.

A snapshot of your key responsibilities as IT Infrastructure Lead be:

  • Takes a leadership position on Infrastructure operations systems and technology (servers, storage, network, end-user computing) related initiatives at the site level.

  • Align site, regional and global infrastructure projects in line with site priorities. Aligns team priorities appropriately and determines team critical success factors. Responsible for actions taken by itself and subordinates.

  • Establish and maintain high quality relationships with all levels within the organization. Understands client’s business needs and requirements.

  • Works with Global and Business IME/BTO teams to recommend and implement technologies and strategies within the local sites.

  • Interacts with managed service partners and Global peers to assure that changes, requests and incidents to the infrastructure operations at the site level are achieved following BTS Infrastructure services policies and standards.

  • May negotiate, secure, oversee & ensure that on-site CCF, Network and EUC resources are available to meet the daily operational demands of the area.

  • Ensures IT compliance and adherence of applicable internal and external regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines for the Infrastructure Operations area (CCF, servers, storage, network, and a EUC.

  • Manages appropriate audit preparation and representation/participation as well as audit responses to GXP areas under the BTS Infrastructure operations.

  • Responsible for managing local infrastructure operations and projects, maintenance contracts and expenses within budget, inventory management and accuracy of local infrastructure operations assets as per Finance and BTS standards and policies.

  • Responsible for assuring that issues and requests assigned to the infrastructure operations are resolved and completed in an appropriate and timely manner as established in the BTS Infrastructure Services organization metrics. Communicate on infrastructure issues impacting the site and site escalation.

Qualifications

So, what do you need to do this role?

Education & Experience 

  • Degree in relevant IT course – Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Science.

  • 5+ years relevant industry experience.

  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in: Microsoft Windows Server 2008-2022 administration, Microsoft Active Directory, VMWare vSphere Administration. Storage Systems, Hyperconverged Infrastructure, Enterprise Monitoring & Alerting Tools, Automation Tools.

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure technologies (including network, DHCP, DNS, Radius, LDAP, VLANs, AD, GPOs), and their impact on the business.

  • Team player with flexibility, high integrity, strong negotiating and influencing skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill in English with ability to express / translate business needs into technology assisted solutions.

  • Demonstrating a consistent track record of delivering results, often in the face of challenges or obstacles.
