Position Summary
The Department of Plant Soil and Microbial Sciences is accepting applications for a Research Associate (Postdoctoral Fellow) to implement genomic prediction in the MSU Dry Bean Breeding and Genetics Program for seed yield and canning quality. As a Research Associate, you will play an important role in finding more efficient and effective methods to breed dry beans, including testing and developing pipelines for genomic prediction, phenomic prediction, and participatory variety evaluation with farmers and canning industry stakeholders. Key Responsibilities. Participate in all stages of the dry bean breeding process. Conduct DNA extractions, analyze agronomic, canning, and genomic data, genomic and phenomic prediction statistical modeling, present data in oral and written form and in peer reviewed publications.

Required Degree
Doctorate -Plant Breeding and Genetics or related
Minimum Requirements
PhD in Plant Breeding and Genetics or related field
Desired Qualifications
Experience with genomic prediction methods, quantitative genetics, breeding methods, genotyping, statistical analysis, working with large datasets.
