*Position Summary: * Generally, expected to work as a valued member of the shipping and receiving operations.  This job will consist of vehicle operations transporting reinforcing bar and other products along the east coast; however, a majority in the PA, NJ, NY area.   

Responsibilities:

• Operate company owned and leased trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.
• Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation "user maintenance" and provide required reports as required by company and DOT. (i.e. -- driver logs, trip reports, etc.) 
• Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
• Maintain all certifications required by DOT, OSHA and company safety programs.
• Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition.
• Ability to follow directions to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Required to strap and tie-down loads.

• Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.

   

Essential skills and experience:

• Excellent driving skills and ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times.
• Ability to make long runs (up to 14 hours in a day) as required by shipping needs.
• Must be able to drive  Stick Shift!
• CDL B required.
• Early morning starts required.
• Must Pass DOT physical and drug screen as required by law.

• 1 or more year(s) experience as truck driver preferred but not required.

Work environment: Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme heat & cold near moving mechanical parts and includes occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
