Applied Research Associates, Inc. Senior Engineer 2 in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey

Description

The Engineering Science Division (ESD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a Senior Engineer 2 to support engineering and scientific research, development, testing, studies, and related activities onsite in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. This position is contingent on contract award.

As a Senior Engineer, you will perform in-depth engineering analyses of security related systems to determine potential for further development, production, interface to other systems, and usefulness in the homeland security environment. Witness test performance; prepare test/program assessment reports; brief government staff on ongoing activities; interview government and non-government people to improve system engineering knowledge.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Experience that demonstrates a professional knowledge of systems development and technology development. Professional knowledge is defined as the comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of systems engineering and advanced technology development.

  • Experience creating project life cycle work (planning, development, execution, termination).

  • Develop work breakdown structures, PERT/CPM critical path working knowledge, project budgets, and tracking of project activities.

  • Good leadership skills, and good written and oral communications skills.

  • Experience writing project documents with little or no supervision, including project plans, test plans and procedures, data analysis reports, and project final reports.

  • Experience with commercial project management software programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering and have at least 12 or more years of experience, or

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in engineering and have at least 6 or more years of experience; or

  • degree in a natural science (e.g. physics, chemistry, biology) from an accredited college or university.

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • Requires Secret Security Clearance or higher and DHS Suitability.
