AutoZone, Inc. Sr. Systems Administrator - Windows in Elk Grove, California
Position Summary As a member of a lean and high-performing Windows administrative team, you will be responsible for providing second level administrative support to our IT operations, infrastructure, product engineering, QA, and data services teams, while maintaining all Windows servers hosted at our headquarters, colocation facilities and hybrid cloud environments. The Sr. Systems Administrator position will be accountable for server builds, application deployment, patching, backups, disaster recovery, monitoring, compliance auditing support, and advocating for automation and industry best practices.
The Sr. Systems Administrator, shall possess 7+ years of applied technical knowledge, and experience with most of the following systems, platforms, and/or applications:
In depth knowledge of Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 and above Operating Systems
Significant experience with Windows servers including demonstrated expertise in operating system installation, configuration, performance tuning, upgrades, migrations, and maintenance.
Expert understanding of IIS 6.x/7.x or above
Ability to write scripts to automate regular operational tasks using VBS or PowerShell
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014, and 2016
Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Understanding of networking, proxy, and firewall systems
Experience with service management software: Atlassian Jira/Confluence/Jenkins, SMAX
Knowledge of Nagios, PRTG, SolarWinds, HP Operations Manager, Dell OpenManage
Strong knowledge/understanding of ITSM/ITIL support processes and methodologies, incident management, change control management, problem management

Work with Engineering and QA teams to provide technical guidance

Analyze/troubleshoot all levels of server, application and network issues.
Document, track and monitor technical issues to ensure timely resolution
Provide timely and thorough input for regular status reporting
Take ownership of issues, work independently or escalate as needed, and find creative ways to resolve problems
Perform other duties and special projects as required or assigned Document processes, procedures, configuration settings and infrastructure design for business continuity and disaster recovery.
