DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on engines and related components at the customer site with minimal direction.

We are looking for a talented Field Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Elko, NV). will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

• Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

(Entry):

• Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics

• Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality

QUALIFICATIONS

Willing to work outdoors

Extended working shifts including nights and weekends

Willing to work at underground mines

Technical Certification from Diesel Program

Daily Submission of accurate paperwork

Ability to document unit/engine data and dialogist/ repair actions

DOT/ Medical Card

Compliance with DOT regulations

Timely Communication Skills with admin staff

• A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire

• Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

• A current valid license is required for this role

• This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

• 3 years driving experience

• This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use

• Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred).

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.

Locally valid driving permit.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Minimal level of workshop related experience required.

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.

Locally valid driving permit.
