Chemung Canal Trust Company Operations Manager in Elmira, New York

Manages Operations personnel performing a variety of specialized banking duties and complex functions to ensure adherence to all regulations and operating procedures applicable to Wire Transfers, Deposit Operations, and Loan Operations.

  • Directs the boarding, including data verification, scanning to electronic media, and servicing of the bank’s Commercial, Small Business Lending and Retail loan portfolio.

  • Ensures that loan files for new, open, and paid loan accounts contain proper documentation, including documents with proper signatures, dates and other relevant data.

  • Manages personnel supporting processing Wire Transfers. Ensuring these transactions are executed with an attention to detail that mitigates the substantial risk of these transactions.

  • Manages bank personnel to ensure the proper use, interpretation and investigation of the daily fraud reports to mitigate fraud risk. Is responsible for ensuring the system specifications are accurate and maintained to enable these programs to support our risk scenarios.

  • Manages personnel to ensure that all Bank Operations including Levies, Subpoenas, Restraining Notices and other legal service are processed with the highest level of attention to confidentiality, proper application of exemptions and timeliness to avoid penalties and financial loss to the Bank.

  • Ensures that personnel respond to all inquiries and requests for information in a timely & accurate manner; supporting our client facing departments to mitigate potential fraud through branch and electronic channels for account activity.

  • Develops, implements, & manages strategies to achieve goals for areas of responsibility & works with assigned staff on establishing objectives that support the overall bank plan. Provides reporting on a regular basis, or as requested, to track progress and measure the department’s performance metrics.

  • Manages the vendor relationship for the programs used within departments under supervision.

  • Assists in the development of the annual budget and adheres to budget parameters for all departments under supervision.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws, inclusive of interviewing, hiring and training, planning assigning and directing work, developing employees and appraising performance, rewarding, coaching, disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving problems

  • Conforms to General Performance Expectations as identified for all employees.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred, Specialized training in bank products preferred

  • A minimum of 2-4 years experience in a related position required

  • Strong leadership skills and experience; flexibility, creativity and forward thinking skills are a significant plus

  • Proficient interpersonal skills interacting with clients, all levels of staff, management, vendors and outside agency personnel

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    Salary Range $81,000 to $126,000 Annually

Compensation offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education and, where applicable, licenses or certifications obtained.
