Griffin Academy's mission is to provide every foster youth with the skills and planning necessary to succeed after emancipation and to provide a supportive and nurturing environment to support their success. Job Description - Under the supervision of the educational director teaches the NCCER CORE curriculum for the Griffin Academy Program. Prepares classroom for curriculum implementation and ensures safety of students. Pre-and Post-tests students. Participants in transitional / treatment planning meetings. Compiles daily training and weekly student reports for senior administration. Attends weekly staff meetings. Job Skills/Requirements:

• Conducts Griffin Academy youth activities.
• Direct responsibility for teaching NCCER CORE vocational training classes, guidance and supervision of youth including overseeing physical care, development of acceptable habits and attitudes, management of student behavior and help to meet goals and objectives of any required training / service plan.
• Compile and maintain necessary records and reports for the purpose of maintaining accurate youth records. Presents youth process reports to administrative director.
• Participated and provides input in student transitional planning meetings.
• Develop a vocational profile showing current strengths and weaknesses related to general job skills and work habits for the purpose of assuring all youth attain appropriate levels of achievement in areas fundamental to their continuing development. Maintains healthy and safe teaching/learning environment.
• Provides mentoring services to Griffin Academy youth.
• Other duties as assigned.
• 4 Years as Journeyman or Technician in the field they are instructing or 3 years as a vocational teacher. NCCER Core Vocational licensure.
• Valid License
• CPR Certification as well as First Aid.
• Pass Drug Screening, Background Check and Child offender registry check.
