Responsibilities

The purpose of the Senior Business Credit Analyst is to objectively analyze, underwrite, and, within certain parameters, decision commercial loan requests.  Other general responsibilities include conducting annual reviews, analyzing complex financial information, and monitoring the credit risk of the commercial loan portfolio, including but not limited to the Credit Union's largest, most complex relationships.  Less common duties include assisting the AVP of Business Credit Underwriting with training Credit Analysts, preparing approval commitment letters, and reviewing real estate appraisals.

With limited supervision and budgetary responsibility, the Senior Business Credit Analyst requires a significant degree of research, time management, and problem-solving skills in order to solve a wide variety of issues that may arise.

SKILLS: * Decision making requires analytical ability, independent judgment, and ingenuity with significant discretion on daily operational decisions * Teamwork, courtesy, and tact are essential elements of the job * Working knowledge of the methods used in collecting supporting information for the underwriting of business loans and the factors/metrics that go into properly evaluating the risks associated with different types of businesses * Solid understanding of laws and regulations governing business and consumer lending and collections practices * Proficiency in understanding key performance indicators, such as balance sheet and income statement metrics * Thorough knowledge of credit union products and services * Superior communication and interpersonal skills

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing * Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading * Ability to sit for extended time periods * Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment * Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel * Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of commercial credit underwriting experience Does this position require a valid Drivers License?
