Aston Carter Sox Compliance Program Manager in Everett, Washington

IT SOX Compliance Manager

Hybrid position in Everett with an industry-leading consumer product company!

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA) preferred

  • Proven experience (ideally 5+ years) with SOX Compliance, internal auditing, and public accounting

  • Strong understanding of SOX regulations and requirements, including controls testing and remediation

  • Familiarity with other regulatory requirements including GDPR, PII, PCI

  • Solid knowledge of financial reporting processes, internal controls, and risk management principles

  • Ability to monitor and adapt to regulatory changes

  • Competent in preparing detailed reports and presentations

Job Description

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on SOX compliance matters, providing guidance and support to the organization as required.

  • Own and manage the tasks needed to remediate any identified deficiencies or weaknesses, tracking progress and ensuring timely resolution.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify key SOX risks and controls, ensuring adequate documentation and testing methodologies are in place.

  • Conduct periodic testing and evaluation of ITGCs to identify weaknesses, deficiencies, or areas for improvement; partner with IT and Business teams for remediation.

  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on SOX and other regulatory compliance requirements, control objectives, and best practices.

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during compliance audits, including providing documentation, responding to inquiries, and addressing findings.

  • Monitor changes to regulatory standards, assess their impact on the organization, and recommend appropriate actions.

  • Review compliance reports from external partners and vendors, including SOC-1, SOC-2, security assessments, and other reports.
