POSITION SUMMARY

This is a pivotal role responsible for developing, delivering, and managing GS1 standards educational training programs within an organization. This position is expected to work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the organization including Standards, Community Engagement, and Marketing teams to ensure training compliance to GS1 Standards and guidelines.

Key responsibilities for this role include utilizing adult learning principles to create and deliver effective training; maintaining high quality standards in development for all methods of training delivery; and aligning training initiatives with corporate business objectives and goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned.

  • Content Development and Content Updates: work with subject matter experts to create and develop training materials, courses, and other resources.

  • Needs Assessment: collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs, assess gaps, and determine the best delivery method.

  • Project Management: oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of training initiatives. Lead projects with internal teams and vendors to ensure they stay on track, meet deadlines, and achieve desired outcomes.

  • Evaluation: regularly evaluating training effectiveness and making necessary adjustments as continuous improvement.

  • Deliver training in various forums including in-person classroom, live virtual classroom, and webinars.

  • Develop Assessments and Professional Designation Exams that validate knowledge transfer.

  • Collaborate with marketing and outbound call center teams to execute on public offerings in support of departmental revenue targets.

  • Strong program management and project management skills

  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Experience in developing technical course content for both novices and experts.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical terms using simple language.

  • Nimble learner and proven ability to work under broad guidance.

  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a highly collaborative, matrix team-oriented environment.

  • Knowledge of web-based learning platforms and modern educational techniques.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (e.g. Power Point, Word, Excel)

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University or equivalent experience

  • Proven work experience as a Technical Training Manager or similar role.

  • 5+ years related experience in training and development of external customers or members.

  • Facilitation and Presentation experience – delivery of live instruction via various delivery methods.

  • Business Process and/or Supply Chain experience a plus

  • Technical experience and/or prior knowledge of GS1 Standards a plus

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no direct reports.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires travel as necessary (10%)
