The Residential Coordinator is responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs). Additionally, you will provide supervision and monitoring of clients/patients, modeling appropriate behavior and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. You will ensure that all BHTs are adequately trained and oriented to program rules and expectations, provide ongoing supervision, and ensure adherence to all policies and procedures for client care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interview, hire, and train Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs).

  • Oversee daily client activities, ensuring adherence to rules and expectations.

  • Assist in client orientation regarding rules and rights.

  • Schedule BHT staff within established policies and procedures.

  • Ensure proper staffing coverage and manage overtime.

  • Monitor and facilitate required staff training, including Relias Learning.

  • Develop individualized training plans and facilitate regular supervision meetings.

  • Maintain documentation of supervisory meetings per regulations.

  • Complete evaluations and status notices promptly.

  • Schedule and facilitate monthly staff meetings and trainings.

  • Ensure compliance with urine analysis processes and staff training.

  • Oversee medication management system and adherence to regulations.

  • Ensure staff is trained on facilitating educational groups and documentation.

  • Participate in clinical staffing and treatment team meetings.

  • Demonstrate commitment to the company's long-term and short-term goals.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or a closely related field from an accredited institution; OR

  • High school education and two (2) years of experience in substance abuse or mental health treatment, with a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Supervisory Requirements:

  • Communicate the organization's strategic direction and encourage employee participation.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to all aspects of the department.

  • Monitor the identification, development, and execution of strategic objectives.

  • Involve employees at all levels to achieve goals.

  • Effectively communicate changes and newsworthy events within the department or company.

  • Handle difficult employee situations directly, using appropriate discretion and Human Resource advice.

  • Champion change and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas.

  • Reinforce a team approach throughout functions, supporting and soliciting input from team members at all levels.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of background checks, including criminal record, driving record, and abuse/neglect.

  • Completion of New Hire Orientation, Relias Learning training, and other required certifications (First Aid, CPR, Behavioral Management, Medication Administration) within specified timeframes.

  • Achievement of thirty-six (36) hour training requirements within a 2-year period, in accordance with regulations.

  • Direct Service Expectations form within thirty (30) days of employment.

  • If transporting clients, verification of liability limits on personal car insurance, valid driver's license, and eligibility requirements.

  • For adolescent programs, additional training on adolescent behavior, family dynamics, communication skills, abuse, stress management, and peer pressure within the first year of employment.
